Welcome to Fielding’s Fieldnotes!

I am a Research Scientist with the Nova Scotia Salmon Association and past PhD graduate from the University of Toronto (in the Mandrak lab, co-supervised by Scott Reid from the OMNRF).

I am broadly interested in applied ecology and conservation of freshwater fishes. My research interests center how natural and human-induced disturbance threatens the survival and recovery of aquatic species at risk and how to improve upon current conservation applications and tools. I use a combination of field surveys, quantitative modeling, and conservation planning approaches to develop best management practices for imperiled species.

When I am not researching I spend my days reading, cooking, playing/listening to music, and playing hockey. I am a strong advocate for women in science and sport!
